Last night Gary Jones and myself joined John and Sarah Chow, Michael Kwan, Stephen Fung, Ed Lau and Greg Morgan, down at the Alibi Room on Alexander in Vancouver for the 100th episode Party for Leo Laporte’s show on Tech TV, On the Lab with Leo.

This was a horrible place to be, we ended up not bothering with the party downstairs in the tiny little WAY TOO HOT AND STUFFY party room filled with geeks, there was no room to move and we decided to wait till it cleared a bit to go visit with Leo. Unfortunately Leo was smarter than most of us and left his own party long before it was over so we didn’t have a chance to visit with him.
We on the other hand, made the serious mistake of ordering food upstairs. Gary ate before the event started and his burger was a soggy mess, I guess we should have taken that as a sign, but we didn’t. After ordering our food, we waited . . .and we waited . . . and we waited, finally some of the food arrived. I will only comment on my $22 steak, it was horrible, it arrived looking like it had dropped on the floor, I couldn’t cut it with the steak knife.

I complained and it was taken off the bill. John and Sarah got their food about 20 minutes after the rest of us got ours. I can tell you for sure that the Bloggers will never show up at the Alibi Room again. I have to say that we did manage to create some fun as we usually do. Stephen and Ed looked like tourists with their fancy camera’s and made for some good shots. The rest of us were happy enough with our normal Digital camera’s. Ed spent some time picking on John as usual.

On a side note, here is a shot of the Alibi Room’s entertainment area.

Thumbs down to the Location, Thumbs down to the Leo Laporte Party and a HUGE Thumbs down to the food and service . . . they did have good beer though.
